SPOONER RODEO, Spooner -
   The annual Spooner Rodeo is normally the second full weekend in July.  Since 1954, Spooner Rodeo has guaranteed -- and delivered -- the biggest thrills, spills and outright excitement that professional rodeo can offer. Every year at Spooner, top-ranked competitors pit their skills against the clock and Barnes Company's biggest, roughest and wiliest stock in pro rodeo's most exciting events: bareback and saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, steer wrestling, barrel racing, bull riding and team roping. Spooner Rodeo is world-class competition that you have got to see.
Tickets should be purchased in advance by calling (800) 367-3306 or by stopping by the Washburn County Information Center at 122 North River St. in Spooner, just north of the stoplights at the junction of Highways 63 and 70.

The Great Folle Avoine Fur Trade Rendezvous -
  Held the 4th week in July.  Over 150 fur trade camps fill Sayer's Field & Trader's Row, representing the many unique characters that gathered after a winter of trapping to trade goods, stories and a good time. Enjoy demonstrations of period skills, black powder, archery and tomahawk competitions and food preparation. Visit with the participants to learn the history of this important era of commerce and exploration in North America.

Forts Folle Avoine Historical Park - Danbury, WI
  Located on 80 wooded acres along the Yellow River near Danbury.  The park is a living history site where reconstructed fur trade posts occupy the actual sites where they were once operated from 1802 to 1805, alongside an authentic Woodland Indian Village.
